The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 is the ongoing 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is taking place in Liverpool, United Kingdom, after Ukraine, winner of the 2022 contest couldn’t host due to the on going conflict with Russia.

Picks:

Australia to finish top 10 is worth a punt at $4.00 odds. They don’t have the greatest spot – second half of the night, but early in the 2nd half – but their performances so far have been pretty much universally well received and their song is a certified banger. Live crowds have been going apeshit for their performance and we expect judges in the building to do the same. Plus they have a keytar solo and singer Danny Estrin has major daddy vibes.

Portugal has been put in the death slot (2nd act in the first half) for a reason. They are not good, plus that slot is usually given to the entry the programmers expect to bomb. They are currently paying $4.00 for a last place finish.

Another artist to consider for a last place bet is Poland at $12.00 odds. There are a million factors standing up against this entry. Blanka sung very poorly in her semi-final and her spot should have – and would have if the voting wasn’t televote-only – gone to Georgia. Then there are the controversies surrounding her.

Blanka won Poland’s Eurovision entry contest due to nepotism. The network that put the national competition on fast-tracked her to the finals because she politically stands with the owners of the network. Not only is she openly pro-Putin, but is also homophobic and transphobic. On top of this, the finals for Poland’s entry to Eurovision were between her and a gay male singer and the network’s hosts were instructed to make homophobic remarks and ridicule him to influence voters to choose Blanka. Since this has become public knowledge, there are a lot of country’s judges and international voters planning to not vote for her on that alone. Not to mention she has a horrible performance position.

Here’s our bonus pick for Eurovision winner:

Lots of value with Finland currently paying $3.88 with their crazy viral entry Cha Cha Cha’. Imagine an aggressively gay workout instructor screaming at you in Finnish about how he likes to get drunk over a pounding techno beat. Then the second half it morphs into a pop ear-worm. The staging is outstanding, the back-up dancers look sufficiently psychotic and the song is catchy as hell, even if it is in Finnish.
