Tampa Bay Rays First 5 innings -.5 @20/29 vs Washington Nationals
This is a pitching matchup that is one of the biggest disparities in effectiveness you will ever see. Patrick Corbin got his money, and since.. he is a bottom 2% starting pitcher in Major League Baseball. Over the last 2 years his ERA averages over 6.00 and there is not much fluctuation, he is consistently awful.
The Rays lineup is plenty capable with Diaz Arozorena and Franco already piping hot to start the year and a lineup that is underrated in its depth. They have to be chomping at the bit to face the misling southpaw.
Shane McClanahan for the Rays is a totally different story. Last year he boasted a 2.54 ERA and a .93 WHIP.. Need we say more really? He continued his prowess completely shutting down the Tigers in 6 innings in his first start of the season.
San Francisco Giants vs Chicago White Sox -1.5 @31/20
Let’s start with the pitching matchup, Giants are throwing Logan Webb who had a solid year last year, but got beat up in his first start of the season allowing 4 earned in 6 innings. On the other side the White Sox are throwing Dylan Cease who had a dominate 2.20 ERA last year and kept the ball rolling this season with another dominate start against the Astros on opening day. When looking at the lineup side of things in this one, the White Sox definitely have more talent. We expect the White Sox to have a bounce back game after losing 12-3 on Monday to the Giants. Behind their ace Cease hopefully the White Sox muster up the runs and cover this line.
Chicago Cubs ML @20/23 vs CIN Reds
Vegas keeps wanting to sell us the Hunter Greene hype. Don’t buy it. Yes he throws fast, yes he probably will be a frontline starter in the future. The reality is that he walks too many guys, and leaves far too many pitches over the plate. With a patient attack Greene will start to unravel and we expect the cubs to execute that game plan and win the series against the overachieving reds today.
Twins -1.5 @6/4 vs Marlins
Marlins beat the Twins 1-0 but we was not impressed, shout out to Sandy, but Kenta Maeda missed a whole year, and Marlins couldn’t really take hits off of him. (we rate Maeda but we really thought he was gonna have a tough first game.) This game we see Pablo Lopez & Jesus Luzardo, both had a great start, but feel that one will struggle tomorrow, and let’s hope its Luzardo.
Los Angeles Angels ML @4/6 vs. Seattle Mariners
Like this spot for the Angels. Flexen vs. Ohtani. Flexen is a good pitcher that’s starting to come into himself as of the past year but we expect Ohtani to be better as well as the Angels offense. Ohtani got thee ol’ no decision after putting up a stellar line of 6 IP, 0 ER, 10 K in his first outing behind minimal run support and a shitty outing by Aaron Loup that gave the A’s a win. We see the offense coming out aggressive tonight ready to score and getting a win for their guy. To go along with that, the core of the bullpen is rested and ready to go. Feel free to take RL at -146 but betting with some more value. Plus, if Angels win this we see it being by a few.
Yankees ML @5/8 vs Phillies
Looking at the slate for 4/5 there’s only 3 hockey games and nothing we hate more than forcing ourselves to take a bet when there’s no great options to choose from. That being said we’re liking this one.
Yankees are on game 3 of their series against the Phillies. With this they are back to the beginning of their rotation with Gerrit Cole. Cole in his first outing absolutely shoved giving up 0 runs, 0 ER, only 3 hits, on top of 11 Ks for the start of the 2023 season. He looked nothing short of great and should expect nothing less going up against an overall struggling Phillies offense.
