Angels -1.5 @21/20 vs Athletics
The A’s are not going to be good this year and Tyler Anderson had a career year last year. Combine that with the A’s getting dominated by the Angels today and I think the Angels are in a good place. I expect the A’s to only be able to scrape a few runs by while the Angels can get ahead early and stay ahead.
Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles, Over 9.5 Runs scored @5/6
How these teams have been hitting, 10 runs seems like it should get hit in the 6th or 7th inning. The bullpens are beaten up already due to the starters getting pushed around, and while Houck and Irvin might keep this a 3-2 or 4-3 game going into the 5th, we imagine the doors get blown off by the 7th and we are looking at another 7-5 or 8-6 win for Boston.
Pirates ML @23/20 vs Reds
Throw the stats out the window, they’ve been useless. The Reds sucks. They had 3 wins last April, and this year’s team might be worse. Vince Velasquez stinks but Graham Ashcroft also sticks, its that simple.
Atlanta Braves -1.5 @20/23 vs. Washington Nationals
The Braves are off to a good start on the season, beating the Nationals 7-2 on Thursday and 7-1 on Friday, covering the run line in both. Jared Shushter is expected to start for the Braves as he makes his MLB regular season debut. Today’s run line odds for the Braves have increased from the following two games (we think they sat around 1.6 or 1.7), which we believe is partly due to the uncertainty associated with Shushter’s debut. But still, expect the Braves to cover as Shushter had an ERA of 1.74 and a WHIP of 0.77 through 20.2 innings pitched during Spring Training. Those numbers should be taken with a grain of salt since they’re Spring Training stats, but Shushter looked promising on the mound. Mackenzie Gore is set to make his pitching debut for the Nationals after being traded from the Padres last year.
