The Indian Wells Masters, also known as the Indian Wells Open and BNP Paribas Open, is an annual tennis tournament usually held in early- and mid-March at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California, United States. The owner is Larry Ellison, executive chairman and co-founder of Oracle.

With a huge prize pot of $8.8 Million USD, it attracts all the big players in the game.

Our Picks:

Nishioka ML @8/15 vs Christian Garin

Going to ride with Yoshi to win against Garin. These guys have only met one time a few years ago and Nishioka came out victorious in straight sets. Garin has won a few qualifiers in a row but we don’t feel this momentum will continue tonight. Nishioka is a tough opponent on hard courts because he makes you work for every point and the massive top spin he puts on his shots. Any time we can get Nishioka at these odds on hard courts it’s worth a look.

Zhang vs Perterson ML @8/11

We have on one side Shuai Zhang ranked 27th in the world and on the other side Rebecca Peterson ranked 103rd in the world, their current ranking does not reflect their level nor their form. They have already faced each other 3 times in the past, Peterson leads 2-1 and won the last two meetings. Let’s make a little more detailed analysis of these two players :

Shuai Zhang has played 11 games this year for 4 wins and 7 losses. Most of them were logical defeats but no notable victory either. She arrives in Indian Wells with a series of 4 consecutive losses, she didn’t finish 2022 well either. We can say that she doesn’t come in full of confidence and sure of her game.

Rebecca Peterson on the other hand is in the form of her life. She is on an impressive 9-1 record over her last ten games. She already has three rounds in her legs, two qualifying rounds and one main round. So it’s true that most of these wins are against second knives but she did beat Marta Kostyuk, the recent winner of the Austin tournament in the previous round. Our only fear is her fatigue state because she has played a lot in the last few days and her last match against Kostyuk was really tough. Apart from that for me all the lights are green.

Grigor Dimitrov 2:0 (Set Bet) @10/11 vs Jason Kubler

Dimitrov loves this tournament and the court conditions. Historically he’s had success here, and we don’t think Kubler is a good enough player to keep up. With that being said, Dimitrov has made a career out of not ‘showing up’ for weeks or months on end. He does frequently lose matches that he shouldn’t, but we can’t see too many outcomes for this unless Kubler plays some redlining tennis. Grigor moves well and can inject pace when needed, which is generally how players find success at IW.

Daniel Evans vs Jack Draper – Over 22.5 games @10/11

We have a battle of the Brits, Draper is holding the favourites spot although Evans is the more experienced player. We see this been a long hard slog of a match and the result will most likely come down to mistakes.

Other Picks:

Cameron Norrie 2-0 @2/5 vs Wu

Karen Khachanov ML @1/3 vs Oscar Otte

Maria Sakkari ML @8/15 vs Shelby Rogers

Coco Gauff 2-0 @4/9 vs Christina Busca

Madison Keys ML @1/4 vs Cirstea
