The Minnesota Wild will be visiting the Winnipeg Jets for their third match of the season, with the Wild winning the first 6-1 and the second 4-1. Since those games the Wild have found themselves in slow scoring games very frequently. The Wild are 9-1 on this line in their last 10 and the Jets are 5-5 on this line in their last 10. Yeah the Wild will likely have Fluery in here, but he hasn’t been half bad lately and the Jets have just been really struggling on offense lately. We don’t see a game against the Wild being a good spot for the Jets to come out scoring as the Wild have only allowed 12 goals in their last 10 games.
Vancouver Canucks ML @1/2 vs Anaheim Ducks
Small slate in the NHL today with only 3 games. Neither the Canucks or Ducks are very good, but they both have been playing better recently with the Ducks going 3-1-1 over their last 5 and the Canucks going 3-2. This is in part thanks to improved goaltending lately. Canucks won the previous game between these 2 teams 8-5 in November.
Expected goalie for the Canucks is Thatcher Demko. This will his 4th start back from injury. He has looked good so far, allowing 7 GA over the 3 starts. Expected Ducks starter is Lukas Dostal. He’s an ok goalie, has had a few decent starts this year but isn’t the same threat to steal a game like Gibson is.
These are the two worst teams defensively this year. Ducks are 32nd in GAA, Canucks are 31st. Ducks are 31st in goals/GP, Canucks are 10th.
