The NHL action comes thick and fast throughout the regular season with each team playing 82 games, totalling 1,271 total regular-season games. We at Degen bring the best picks from the almost daily action.

Our Picks: –

New York Islanders ML @10/17 vs. Ottawa Senators

Senators are coming off a big comeback win in OT last night, Islanders have lost 2 straight.

Expected goalie for the Islanders is Ilya Sorokin. Elite goalie, GAA of 2.41 and SV% of .923. Even better at home. Senators will either start Sogaard in a b2b for his 4th career start or go to their 4th string Kevin Mandolese for his 1st career start. Either way, there’s a huge advantage for the Islanders in goaltending.

Senators are 23rd in goals/GP, Islanders are 24th. Both are low scoring teams, Islanders offense has looked better since acquiring Horvat. Islanders are 4th in GAA, Senators are 18th.

New Jersey Devils 60-min @10/21 vs Columbus Blue Jackets

The New Jersey Devils will be visiting Columbus to face the Blue Jackets for their second match of the year, New Jersey won the first match 7-1 at home. The Devils have played very well on the road this year going 19-3-3 and are playing well recently going 7-2-1 in their last 10.

The Blue Jackets have had a bad season and are one of the worst teams in the NHL. They do play a little better at home booking an 11-16-2 record on home ice but have lost 4 of their last 5 games at home. The Blue Jackets have been very poor on defense allowing and average of 3.83 goals per game while the Devils have a great offense this season averaging 3.46 goals per game. The Blue Jackets have also been dismal on offense only netting 2.53 goals per game while the Devils defense has been great, limiting opponents to 2.68 goals per game The Devils will be without their star offensive player in Jack Hughes but they will be able to get pucks in the net without him. If the Devil’s do have offensive struggles this game without Hughes then they will be able to lean on the defense a bit here if needed. We like the Devils to be the more motivated team here, pushing to get two points and remain just ahead of the Rangers in the standings.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs San Jose Sharks – OVER 6.5 @10/11

The San Jose Sharks will be hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins for their 2nd and final game of the season. Their first match was a 6-4 Penguins win. The Sharks are atrocious defensively on most nights and the Penguins are a team that can make non-defensive teams pay. On the other side you got a Sharks team that has an explosive offense led by Karlsson and Meier. What’s even juicier is the goalie situation. DeSmith and Reimer are most likely starting and they have not been necessarily good this season. Loving these odds and were really surprised the odds are not lower right now!

Hurricanes ML @4/6 vs Capitals

The Hurricanes will be visiting DC to take on the Capitals for the second time this season. The Hurricanes won the first game at home 3-2. We don’t like how the Capitals have been playing. Sure they got the win against the Bruins on the first game back from the break but they have had a bad run the past couple months. The Hurricanes dropped the first game back from the break to the Rangers, but the Rangers look really good right now and… it’s the first game back from the all star break. We think the Hurricanes were playing very well before the break and are a fairly consistent team. Lets trust them to get the job done in 60-mins vs this Capitals

Other Picks:

Stars vs Bruins ML @5/6

Sharks vs Penguins ML @20/31
