Sheffield United vs Wrexham, 7.45pm GMT
Following their pulsating 3-3 draw in Wales last weekend, Sheffield United and Wrexham will lock horns in a FA Cup fourth-round replay on Tuesday evening to determine which side advances.
Wrexham were on the verge of securing a famous win when Paul Mullin made it 3-2 in the 86th minute of the contest, but John Egan came up with a 95th-minute leveller for the Championship outfit.
Our Picks:
Both teams to Score @4/5
Wrexham Win @13/2
The hype around Wrexham since the release of ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, and the amount of money invested in the club by owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has brought the club to a whole new level in the National League. For Wrexham to go this far in the FA Cup means an enormous amount to the club, and they have the chance to make it to the 1/8 Finals if they win here. Wrexham have scored in 14 games in a row and managed to beat Coventry (a team 3 leagues above them) in the previous round of the FA Cup. They already scored 3 goals against Sheffield in the last leg which ended 3-3, and I have confidence that they will come into this game with a full A-team squad with the full intention of bringing the same energy that they brought in the 1st FA Cup leg.
Will Reynolds and McElhenney’s dream of a clash against Spurs live on.
Sheffield United are having a very good season themselves and are in 2nd place – 10 points clear of 3rd place Middlesbrough in the Championship. However, they are coming into this game with quite a few injuries and missing their substitute right winger who received a red card at the end of the last leg against Wrexham. Nonetheless, Sheffield United are 3 leagues above Wrexham, they are playing at home and have a very strong home record they are undefeated in 11 games and are big favourites coming into this game. They will not expect to lose this, but they do not have their best squad coming into this game. The question is also whether they will play the best of the rest of their players or will they see league and promotion as the more important quest this season, so it is always worth waiting until seeing the lineups!
Either way, after a crazy 1st leg clash between these two teams, we expect to see the same energy today from a Wrexham team who have nothing to lose in this game and who have Ryan Reynolds on their side, Sheffield who will hope to put in a better performance than they did while on the road last time!
