Week 14 provided some wonderful results with some magnificent matchups, once getting past the Raiders-Rams shocker on Thursday night. The Chargers, Jaguars and Eagles came through in key spots, as did the surprise underdog Ravens. But some favorites, like the Bills, Chiefs and Cowboys, were unable to take care of big scorers.
With another full card of 16 games, everything will get more challenging with’ NFL picks and predictions.
Sundays Picks:
Falcons vs Saints – Saints ML @1/2
Believe it or not, these teams remain in the NFC South playoff hunt. The Falcons are turning to Desmond Ridder at quarterback after the bye week. The Saints, for all their wrongs this season, are still 3-4 at home. Andy Dalton has nine TDs and just two interceptions at home. New Orleans holds on at the Superdome.
Panthers vs Steelers – Panthers ML @8/13
Kenny Pickett’s status is uncertain after being put in concussion protocol, and the Steelers could turn to Mason Rudolph. Carolina is trying to get back in the NFC playoff hunt. Sam Darnold is shooting for a third straight victory. This will be a field-goal game either way.
Chiefs vs Texans – Over 48.0 Total Points @10/11
The Texans led for most of the game against the Cowboys in Week 14. Kansas City will not be as generous on the road. Patrick Mahomes II will bounce back from a three-interception performance. About the spread? Kansas is 1-1 ATS when favored by 14 points or more this season. How much fight do the Texans have left?
Cardinals average 16.67 PPG (which would be 4th lowest in the NFL this season) with Colt McCoy under center. The Broncos average just 14.9 PPG (the worst in the NFL this season) and now have Brett Rypien starting. We really just don’t see how this game total gets to 37 points. Feels like a 17-13 game to me.
Chargers vs Titans – LA Chargers -2.5 @5/6
The Titans are reeling. Tennessee has got the mailman starting at wideout and a non-existent pass rush. Meanwhile, the Chargers look totally different having their two receivers back. Mike Williams just adds another dimension to the offense. We will take the Bolts.
New York Jets vs Detroit Lions – Jets ML @5/6
The lions were favorite’s against the Vikings and the jets lost to the Vikings, lions should be the easy pick right? No, The Jets match up so much better against the lions than the Vikings do. Jets have a top 5 defense and mostly because of their corners. Goff is Jared Goff, a mediocre QB at best. While he has had a decent season and pretty good stretch of games during their recent hot streak, the defenses they’ve been playing have not been good. Goff is not a good enough QB to overcome the coverage and the jets great pass rush. Lions also happen to have the worst pass defense in the entire league. Now before Mike White was declared out we was willing to throw down Big units on this game but were still not all that concerned with Wilson playing. The only games Wilson has lost this year have been against the Patriots which is really just a whole different dynamic on its own and Zach has proven he can beat teams with mediocre defenses and even pulled one off against the Bills. We would also like to state that the Jets could’ve easily won their last 2 games, especially the Vikings game, it all game down to costly mistakes from inexperience players (and coordinator) some pretty bad luck you could say. On top of all that this is so far the most important game of the season for the jets and we see them stepping up to the challenge instead of crumbling.
Chicago Bears vs Philadelphia Eagles – Over 47.5 Total Points @10/11
We think there’s going to be a lot of points early in this game and throughout. The Bears defense is not good, one of the worst in the league infact. They’re 30th in pts allowed, 27th in rush yards allowed. Decent against the pass, 10th in passing yards allowed. Bears defense is getting some players back this week, but it won’t be enough to slow down the Eagles. The Eagles defense is very good, but we still believe Justin Fields and Co will be able to get some points on the board for Chicago through the running game as that’s the Eagles weakness. What really makes me like this bet is the Eagles games have had 27+ pts in the 1st half in 9/13 games this year. Including 4 of the last 5. For the Bears it’s 8/13 games, but 5/7 since they started scheming around Fields running.
Buccaneers vs Bengals – Bengals ML @10/21
This is the first head-to-head matchup between Joe Burrow and Tom Brady, and that’s going to grab the headlines. The real story, however, is a Bengals’ defense that has allowed 16.7 points the last three weeks against the Titans, Chiefs and Browns. That is the key for Cincinnati as it keeps pace with Buffalo and Kansas City at the the top of the AFC playoff hunt.
Commanders vs Giants – Commanders ML @10/21
These teams tied two weeks ago. The Commanders are coming off a bye week, and the Giants are fading after three losses the last four weeks. New York has allowed an average of 426 yards the last three weeks. The defense needs to figure it out fast if they want to stay in the playoff hunt.
