Top Gun: Maverick, the one to beat at $1,486,657,763 gross worldwide for 2022. With news coming in from around the world of how much Avatar 2 cost to make or how much it needs to profit to go even. This is over shadowing the fact that people are excited to see this movie with all the word of mouth it will create. The first movie (Avatar) opened with $70M and made over $700M domestic. If Jurassic World: Dominion can achieve $1,001,136,080 surely the sequel to the highest grossing film ever (Avatar, $2,922,917,914) could do half the amount to beat out Top Gun: Maverick with odds @ 2/1. We like Avatar 2 to win this box office special bet.
Avatar 2 has an absolute minimum of 1.5 billion, 350 million China, 400 million Domestic, 750 million ROW, its basically impossible to do any less, it has routinely topped polls for most anticipated movie all over the world for years now. Its taking first place easy. It actually polled higher than Spider-Man: No Way Home among the movies most people want to see in theatres. It will start out strong and keep going strong, because unlike Marvel, this movie will have amazing word of mouth and a total spectacle for the senses. People will go back over and over and over. Avatar 2 will have incredible legs and the doubters will whine and cry and stomp their feet and quietly enjoy it in private while shitting all over it in public because they’re embarrassed to show genuine enthusiasm for something that doesn’t have a title ending in -Man.
