Our Picks:
Red Wing vs Sabres
Sabres ML @5/7
Detroit LW Lucas Raymond scored his first two goals of the season. Raymond’s second goal came on a power play with five seconds remaining in the second period on assists from Dominik Kubalik (7) and Dylan Larkin (6).
The Buffalo Sabres enter the 2022-2023 NHL season with the youngest roster in the league and have five players 21 or younger. The Sabres (5-3-0) have split their first four home games and are averaging 3.62 goals per contest. On Saturday, LW Victor Olofsson’s second power play goal lifted Buffalo to a 4-3 overtime victory versus visiting Chicago.
This should be a close game but for us the youthful Sabres take the edge.
Capitals @ Hurricanes
Over 6.5 Goals @20/21
The Washington Capitals continue a road trip Monday night with a game in Raleigh, NC against the Carolina Hurricanes. Washington comes into Monday having struggled a bit this year only one game above .500 despite winning three of the last four games including a 3-0 win over Nashville on Saturday. Darcy Kuemper had one of his best games thus far this season against Nashville saving all 34 shots seen leading to the shutout victory.
The Carolina Hurricanes return home Monday night with five wins through their first eight games played following a one goal overtime win in Philadelphia. Antii Raanta struggled a bit in the net for Carolina posting a .897 save percentage after allowing three goals on 29 shots but posted an overtime shutout to secure the victory for his team.
Blues vs Kings
Kings +1.5 @10/23
The Los Angeles Kings head to St. Louis after beating the Maple Leafs 4-2 at home on Saturday. Kevin Fiala led the way in the win with a goal and an assist. Fiala now has 6 assists on the season. The Los Angeles Kings are 5-5 on the season and sit 5th in the Pacific. The Kings are 3-2 on the road.
The St. Louis Blues remain at home on Monday and will host the Los Angeles Kings. The Blues are 3-4 on the season and sit 7th in the Central Division. St. Louis has lost four straight games heading into Monday. The Blues lost 7-4 to Montreal on Saturday in their last game. Jordan Kyrou scored 2 goals in the loss for St. Louis. The Blues are 1-2 at home.
