Just like before, we’ve getting reverse line movement on this one. Mostly because these two teams played each other not even two weeks ago, with Toronto winning 3-1. So why are we backing Houston in this spot? The reasons start with the meta in that matchup, which heavily featured Zarya (with a hint of D.Va). While Danteh is proving himself to be a quite flexible tank, those are clearly his two worst heroes, and Hotba had the advantage every step of the way. Even then, the 3-1 final score doesn’t fully account for how close that match was. In particular, Houston had Colosseo locked down before letting it slip away, and if they had tied it at 2-2 Houston would have had a decisive advantage going into the second Control map.
Even if Winston is meta, as it appears is the case, Danteh should have a better time with Winston than Zarya (it appears he’s been grinding it recently). If the meta runs Sojourn/Tracer/Winston/Lucio/Kiriko, Houston should be in a great spot. Mer1t is a top-3 Sojourn in NA, with Pelican being a serviceable Tracer (unless Echo sees time as has also been rumoured, in which case Pelican will absolutely mash). Similarly, Lastro projects to be a top tier Kiriko. Toronto has been strong in spots, but across the season Houston has been the far superior team.
Ignore the recent result, which does not apply to this upcoming match. Fade the public and take the sharp side in Houston. You can also get them -1.5 at a juicy +165, but either way take the value in their money-line at @4/6
