Currently, the Stars are tied for second in the NHL rankings. Dallas currently has a Penalty Kill, Power Play, Goals For, and Goals Against all ranked top 6 in the league. Yes, their schedule thus far hasn’t been incredibly difficult. But allowing only 1.6 goals per game isn’t a stat you can argue against. Miro Heiskanen and Colin Miller have combined for 1.3 defensive point shares and nine blocked shots to lead the top pairing but the entire defence has looked great with Esa Lindell, Nils Lundkvist, and the rest of the unit creating turnovers in all three zone and limiting shots on the net. Coming into this game, Jake Oettinger is second in the NHL stats for GAA and SV%, an impenetrable wall of a man. We also can’t look past the Jason Roberston and Joe Pavelski duo, tearing it up with a combined 14 points early into the season.
