Our Picks:

Cavaliers ML @5/6 vs. Bulls

Bulls looks really sharp and they statistically did nice against Cavs, but without Lonzo and potentially without LaVine and with Cavaliers new additional players it will be totally different matchup. Cavaliers will be rested, while Bulls will play third game in 4 days. We really like the odds here and the spot, we think Cavs should be favoured by at least 3 points.

Grizzlies +9.5 @1/2 vs. Mavericks

While Luka is arguably one of the best players in the league, Ja is on another tear to open up the season, and we just don’t see them losing by 5 points, if they even lose at all.

Sacramento Kings vs Clippers –  Player Prop – Domantas Sabonis over 4.5 Assists @1/2

We like this bet considering the odds and the frequency this has hit in Sabonis’ short time with the Kings. Last year he played 15 games for the Kings and got 5 or more assists 13 times. It hit the first game of the season against the Blazers with 5 assists even though he fouled out. One concern is he had only 6 assist opportunities in that game so he needed a high conversion rate to get that 5. Other issue is Clippers play a slow pace which could result in less offensive possessions and less stats for all as a result.

Raptors +3 @10/11 vs Heat

Raptors are just way too big and will propose many mismatches for the Heat defence today. With both teams off a B2B, we like the nit and grind of the Raptors playbook and playstyle that Nick Nurse forces into his team. Were a little worried about the minutes that the starting line-up played for the Raptors tonight but the Heat played near equal minutes with Butler clocking 40 and Herro clocking 36. Lowry at 36 will not sustain good usage after 33 minutes off a B2B and we believe the Raptors will be able to hunt mismatches in Max Strus, Herro and Duncan Robinson.

Celtics -6.5 @5/6 vs Magic

We don’t get this line. Hawks were just -8.5 against the Magic (they covered) and now you’re telling us Celtics are smaller favourites? OK Magic are at home and we might see some back to back tom-foolery (both teams are on back to back) but we’ll still very gladly take this. Celtics still look as good as they did with Udoka, they look like the best defensive team in the league. In general young teams like the Magic tend to struggle the most against elite defensive teams.

Thunder +7.5 @10/11 vs Nuggets

Thunder went 2-2 against the Nuggets last year. Covered the spread and the +7.5 in both their losses. This is a respect pick. Mark Daigneault is a legit coach and he’s done the best job in terms of scheme at defending Jokic we’ve seen lately. Nuggets tend to play down to opponent’s level and especially struggle against super high energy teams which the Thunder are. Nuggets are also playing back to back, just after going down to the wire against the Warriors. Jamal Murray will also play, he’s still trying to find his rhythm and he looked pretty rusty on his first game. We think this benefits the Thunder as well.
