Our Picks:
Pelicans -5.5 @10/11 vs. Hornets
Both teams looked very good during their first games of the new season, but it’s hard to compare the opponents they played against. The Pelicans have a really solid line-up this season after the return of Zion + healthy McCollum and Igram. The spread is quite large for an road game, but the Pelicans are doing remarkably well in Charlotte, as they are 7-0 ATS on the court there against the Hornets. The Pelicans are definitely a better team than the Spurs and we have high expectations for them seeing a full line-up at last, plus the absence of Ball (who is questionable) doesn’t make us optimistic.
Memphis Grizzlies -5 @10/11 vs Houston Rockets
We feel like this line is a little fishy, but were going to bite anyway. were still going off last year’s numbers but the Grizz were 31-3-1 ATS last year when scoring more than 118 points (about the average of which the Rockets gave up per game last year). They take regular season games seriously so we don’t believe it’s a trap game. Houston doesn’t look good.
GSW -5.5 @10/11 vs Nuggets
To state the obvious, GSW at home, For the Nuggets Murray is questionable (if he is out GSW will close at -7 probably) and Jokic hurt his finger badly last game despite playing decent, he is probable but not 100%) we don’t see any injuries for the GSW and they’re at home so take them to win pretty easily. There is a backdoor chance here that GSW win by 1-5 but were willing to take it esp with all the lethal shooters on GSW like Klay and Poole who won’t miss free throws if fouled / can also bring on a barrage of 3’s to cover at any moment.
