The Shriners Hospitals for Children Open is an annual golf tournament held in Nevada as part of the PGA Tour. It was established 39 years ago in 1983 and serves as the fourth event of the Tour’s 2019-20 wrap-around season. This tournament takes place in October in Las Vegas.
The Course:
TPC Summerlin, the venue for the tournament, is a par 71 course spanning 7,255 yards. It features wide fairways and boasts an average driving distance of 297.8 yards, which is significantly above average. The course is known for its birdie-friendly nature, with winning scores of -21 or better in the past four years. Additionally, there are four par 5s that are within reach for the players.

Fun fact: This tournament has witnessed many players achieving their first professional win. In 1996, a young golfer named Eldridge Tont “Tiger” Woods won the precursor to this event, the Las Vegas Open, marking his first professional victory.
