The French Open, also known as Roland-Garros, is a major tennis tournament held over two weeks at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, beginning in late May each year. The tournament and venue are named after the French aviator Roland Garros.

Main Picks:

Luca Nardi vs Alexadre Muller

Muller ML @4/6

Nardi finally got on to the main tour with that stunning win over Djokovic, but it still remains to be seen how much staying power he actually has. Muller has already lost to him twice but is in better form now and will have the French crowd behind him. With how solid he is too, it might be enough to tip the scales in his favor this time.

Zhizhen Zhang vs Aleksandar Vukic

Zhang ML @4/11

Zhang is one of the most up-and-down players on the tour, but this seems like a very good draw for him. While Vukic plays with pretty heavy spin and is better on clay than most people think, his form is still rough and he must be one of the weaker players in the draw. Zhang has all the tools to dominate this matchup.

Alejandro Tabilo vs Zizou Bergs

Tabilo 3-0 @2/1

Bergs is probably one of the most dangerous qualifiers, but he landed a very tough opponent here. Tabilo is coming off Rome semifinals where he came close to eliminating the tournament champion Alexander Zverev. It doesn’t exactly make the Chilean one of the title favorites in Paris, but it does make him the favorite in this matchup.

Carlos Alcaraz vs J.J. Wolf

Alcaraz 3-0 @3/10

It will be interesting to see if Alcaraz comes out firing after his injury issues during the clay-court season so far. With all due respect to Wolf, this seems like an ideal match for the Spaniard to play himself into form. Clay is Wolf’s least favourite surface, which makes a comfortable Alcaraz victory very likely.

Chloe Paquet vs Diana Shnaider

Shnaider 2-0 @4/7

Chloe Paquet is a wild card who spends most of her time in the ITF tour. The last time she was in the main draw of the French Open, she took a set off Aryna Sabalenka in 2022. Diana Shnaider recently won a title at the WTA 125 tournament in Paris and should win this match easily.

Wang Yafan vs Maria Timofeeva

Over 22.5 games @10/11

There is nothing much to separate between these two players. Neither player has won a main draw match at the French Open and will back their chance to do so. Maria Timofeeva had a good showing at the Australian Open this year and I back her to win this.

Ajla Tomljanovic vs Dayana Yastremska

Yastremska 2-0 @5/6

Dayana Yastremska has never won a match at the French Open and this is a great opportunity for her to do so. She has never lost to Ajla Tomljanovic who is short of match practice. Yastremska should win this comfortably.
