Date: March 28th – 31st

The Cadence Bank Houston Open is a professional golf tournament held in Texas as part of the PGA Tour. Traditionally played in November, the event has been moved to March this year

This week, we head to Houston Texas for the Houston Open. The tournament has gone through various name changes over the years but has always been hosted at Memorial Park Golf Course, a municipal course that can be adapted for professional play. The course has a rich history and underwent a recent redesign, with advisory input from Brooks Koepka.

In terms of length, the course is considered to be on the longer side, playing as a par 70 at 7,412 yards. There are notably some lengthy holes, such as the 522-yard opening par 4 and a 625-yard par 4. However, Data Golf suggests that the course actually plays closer to 7,000 yards. Scoring opportunities may be limited, and in recent years, a score of -13 to -15 has been sufficient to secure victory.

Although the length might suggest an advantage for the long hitters, this hasn’t necessarily been the case in the past. The winners have represented various player profiles, and the leaderboards have showcased a mix of playing styles.

Our Picks: (Most Bookmakers Offering 6+ Places)

Scottie Scheffler, @5/1 ew3.

This was on bet365’s each way extra market. Better price for the outright but it also means we’ve had to bet him for a top3 finish at +100, which is a bad price. Best golfer in the world, shot the course record here a couple years ago, it’s his tournament to lose.

Max Greyserman, @150/1 ew5

(w/o Scheffler). One of the best graduates from the korn ferry tour last year. Strong driver, top10 in this field for par 5 scoring. Gained strokes on approach in all of his measured tournaments so far this season.

Mac Meissner, @200/1 ew8.

Works out as +3950 for a top8 finish with a freeroll for the win. We bet him in Mexico and he missed the cut mostly due to his putter. Hasn’t missed a cut since, including T23 and T25 in his last 2 starts. Top40 approach and around the green player in this field.
