The Monaco Grand Prix has run through Monte Carlo since 1929. One part of the Triple Crown of Motorsports, Monaco is Formula One’s most prestigious event of the year. The 3.3-kilometer (2.1 mile) circuit features tight hairpin turns along narrow city streets. Veteran Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton owns the fastest lap on its current configuration at 1:12.909, which he ran in a losing effort last season.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix, ahead of Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz and McLaren driver Lando Norris. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, who grew up in Monaco, had won the pole for the event but then crashed out during Saturday’s qualifying session.

Leclerc’s speed, both here last year and earlier this season, has made him the early favorite to win the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix. Value exists outside of the outright markets, too.

Our Picks:

Max Verstappen – To Win @6/4

Lewis Hamilton – Podium Finish @14/1, E/W

Carlos Sainz – Podium Finish @14/1, E/W

New regulations this year, so this always changes the cars quite a bit. This year Ferrari and Red Bull have the far and away better cars while Mercedes have stunk the development of their car, which has put Lewis in a odd spot in the grid. However, they came out with some upgrades for this GP, and they have looked better, although they probably won’t have the race pace to stay on par with Red Bull and Ferrari. Could be worth a shot as a dart throw play for him or Russell to finish in the podium, since Red Bull always has the risk of reliability this year so far and the Ferraris haven’t been handling their tiers as well as they did at the start of the year.
