Our Picks:
Jazz ML @20/29 vs Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies have started the season 0-4 and look lost. Significant injuries and a few off-season departures have derailed their season and we like the Jazz to take care of them here. These two teams played 4 times last season and they split with the home team winning every matchup. Memphis has lost much more production and for that reason we’ll be riding with the Jazz. Utah has a big lineup and will dominate the boards with Kessler, Collins, and Markkanen.
Rockets ML @20/27 vs Hornets
We think this is a good spot for the 0-3 Rockets to get that first W of the season. They’ve brought in some vets (FVV, Dillon Brooks) to compliment and to show the young bucks the way, so far it’s been a struggle but they are very capable of playing well enough at home and getting the win against a team like the Hornets. The Hornets opened up with a nice win at home against Atlanta, since then they’ve lost to two so-so teams in the Pistons and the Nets, both by double digits and both on the Hornets’ home floor.
Celtics vs Pacers – Over 231.0 @10/11
Both teams have been playing well to start the season and can put up points. We think the Celtics are much better offensively but neither team is going to play lock down defense so the over is favourable in this game.
Trailblazers vs Pistons – Over 213.0 @10/11
Blazers Pistons game, where the O/U line is set at 213 points. In the last 10 Blazers away games, 8 have surpassed 213 total points. When we look at the Pistons home games, 8/10 have also surpassed the 213 total. Also, last season, 83% of both team’s games hit the 213 mark. Both of these teams have shown poor defensive so far this season, which is why we like the over here.
Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors – Player Prop
Giannis Antetokounmpo Under 4.5 Assists @6/5
Giannis under 5 assists. He has not reached this line once this season and ever since Dame has joined the Bucks. Giannis has stopped playmaking as much. Adrien Griffin’s System also has him passing the ball less.
NY Knicks -4.5 @10/11 vs Cavaliers
The NY Knicks host the CLE Cavaliers after NY won 109-91 in Cleveland yesterday. Since Allan, Garland and LeVert are out for the Cavaliers, Mitchell has to carry the team alone at the moment in my opinion. We don’t expect the three aforementioned absences to get playing time tonight. We expect them to cover the -4.5 points.
Denver Nuggets ML @20/29 vs Minnesota Timberwolves
T-Wolves are definitely a threat to the Nuggets but with Karl Anthony Towns struggling to start the season we don’t think they have the firepower to keep up with Jokic and Co (who are picking up right where they left off last year). We can see this being a lower scoring grinder, so we’d avoid the spread, but think even if the Nuggets only have their B game that will be enough to get the W.
