The Italian Grand Prix (Italian: Gran Premio d’Italia) is the fifth oldest national Grand Prix (after the French Grand Prix, the United States Grand Prix, the Spanish Grand Prix and the Russian Grand Prix), having been held since 1921. In 2013 it became the most held Grand Prix (the 2021 edition was the 91st). It is one of the two Grands Prix (along with the British) which has run as an event of the Formula One World Championship Grands Prix every season, continuously since the championship was introduced in 1950. Every Formula One Italian Grand Prix in the World Championship era has been held at Monza except in 1980, when it was held at Imola.

As we head to the Italy this time around, Ferrari is in a much better place then recent years although Red Bull dominance is crazy. That said the Ferrari of Sainz takes pole in Monza, making the Italian squad a frontrunner, and even though things have been a bit disappointing lately, there’s still a chance for glory this weekend.

Verstappen comes to the F1 Italian GP with a past record at the track that is unflattering at best. The driver has had two DNFs in two of his last 3 races and didn’t have a podium finish in seven attempts here until last year where he finished first with the race ending behind the safety car.

Our Picks:

Max Verstappen – Winner @1/5

Even without the pole we can’t see a loss unless its from a technical fault.

Carlos Sainz – Podium @5/6

Starting on pole in Ferrari’s home GP, Its written in the engine oil that this has to happen.

Lewis Hamilton – Podium @4/1 (great value)

Mercedes have not found things easy but have shown small improvement, surely something has to give. Even though he struggled in qualifying he has a good record at this track.
