The strategy is clear-cut: deliver powerful and precise drives while steering clear of the unforgiving 4-inch rough.
Upon reviewing the statistical performance from 2020, a notably gruelling affair emerges, with Jon Rahm emerging victorious at a mere -4, while the average score hovered around +2. A meagre 57.8% greens in regulation (GIR) and 48% driving accuracy substantiated the challenging conditions players faced.

Balls landing on fairways had the tendency to bounce like striking concrete, mirroring the situation with the greens. However, recent times have ushered in humid and muggy weather, accompanied by a significant 9 inches of rainfall in the past month. Consequently, one can anticipate a considerably softer playing surface compared to the prior occasion. Moreover, the absence of spectators in 2020 meant that the grass remained relatively untrampled, amplifying the predicament for those veering off the fairway. This time around, the punitive nature of the course might not be as pronounced.
