Phoenix Mercury vs Atlanta Dream -6.5 @10/11
The Mercury have been an awful team away from home this season with a road record of 1-10. In those 10 losses they have lost by an average of 15.5 ppg. Coming out of the all star break they managed to reel off 2 wins at home before getting drubbed by a short handed Mystics team in Washington. Diana Taurasi did not play in that game and will miss this upcoming contest against the Dream as well, which should hamper their offense once again and limit their outside scoring ability. They sit at 6-16 on the season and we wouldn’t be surprised if they now start to go into tank mode. The Dream on the other hand are 12-10 on the season despite being 5-6 at home and sit comfortably in a playoff spot. They are coming off back to back losses to a good Sun squad but before that had reeled off 7 straight wins so I am not too worried about their form. Rhyne Howard is superstar averaging 19.0 ppg and can go off on any night. The Dream are also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after a straight up loss and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against teams with losing record. We believe they will continue this trend against the Mercury as they look to rebound from back to back losses and move further up in the playoff standings.
