Rays -1.5 @10/37 vs. Royals
McSlamahan is on the mound and he’s ready to go 7 with only a run or two allowed. The Rays had a great day against the Orioles yesterday and will have had a good amount of time to rest after their 12:10 day game in the dome while KC probably flew in tonight from Detroit and looks to be having a bullpen day with their reliever starting. NRFI sounds nice as well, but we like Rays to take this one 6-2.
Braves ML @20/23 vs Phillies
Don’t really trust Elder at the moment but were rolling with the braves until they lose one. NOLA is some flop this year so that was the deciding point. we would take the Braves bats over the Phillies bats any day.
Diamondbacks -1.5 @1/1 vs Nationals
The Diamondbacks are the better team here and will find scoring success against a struggling Nationals team with Jake Irving on the mound. Jake has an ERA of 5.25 on the season and a 1-3 record when starting. Tommy Henry gets the start for the Diamondbacks and while his ERA isn’t great either at 4.66, we see the Diamondbacks offense to running away with this one.
Padres vs Giants ML @21/20 – Dog Pick
Giants are HOT right now, especially after the 5th inning.
On the mound for the Giants we have Alex Wood (4.11 ERA). His last game out against the Dodgers he threw 5 innings, gave up 3 hits, 0 BB and 0 runs with a 4.11 ERA. He had a similar game against Milwaukee last month, going 5.2, giving up 3 hits 1 run.
He’s had 2 ugly outings, most recently giving up 6 runs off 6 hits in 4.1 innings to the Pirates back in May and an early May appearance against the DBacks. While this gives me slight hesitation, he’s shown enough consistency tohave a great game.
For the Padres, we have Snell (3.48 ERA) He’s been pitching better as of late, most recently shutting out the Rays through 6 innings. He also had a shutout against Chicago earlier this month, but gave up 5 to the Rockies. This is baseball. Anything can happen, anything will happen and what will happen is the Giants will win.
