Grand Slam

Date: Mon, 3 Jul 2023 – Sun, 16 Jul 2023

The Championships, Wimbledon, commonly known simply as Wimbledon or The Championships, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is widely regarded as the most prestigious.

With a mixture of controversy surrounding Russian players and ranking points, Excitement for the best Tennis tournament in the world and worry as to weather Andy Murray will be fit to play after picking up an abdominal injury in the ATP Stuttgart Final, Wimbledon will once again be 2 weeks of top quality grass court action (hopefully rain free).

With a prize pot of over £40 Million we will see players preform at the top of there game, were going to now take a look at our early picks in the outright markets.

Our Picks: Men

Obviously Novak Djokovic @5/6 and Rafael Nadal @13/2 would be the first 2 names on most lists but with doubts over Rafa’s fitness after missing the French open it looks a certain he wont be here, and a big season so far from Novak even though entering the French open final and winning as under dog, we are going to turn our attention to 2 other players we think could be finalists. also we will be putting a small E/W bet on Andy Murray @33/1 just for the romance of it (Imagine Murray mound if he reached the final) anyway the serious business our picks.

Carlos Alcaraz @7/2

Was favourite in the French Open final recently, eventually losing to Djokovic will enter Wimbledon with a point to prove and the fire burning. The Spanish professional tennis player. He is ranked world No. 2 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals. Alcaraz has won ten ATP Tour-level singles titles, including the 2022 US Open and four Masters 1000 titles.

Stefanos Tsitsipas @20/1

The Greek has been ranked as high as world No. 3 by the Association of Tennis Professionals, which he first achieved on 9 August 2021, making him the highest-ranked Greek player in history. After making it to the final of the Italian open and semi’s in Madrid his been growing this year and as long as he uses the bathroom before matches will go far here.

Picks Ladies:

Serena Williams will be a massive miss here after retiring last year. There is No Emma Raducanu as she still recovers from injury and surgery we turn to a Women who appears unplayable currently and our No1 pick.

Iga Swiatek @4/1

Women’s favourite Swiatek recently won the French Open and is currently ranked world No. 1 by the Women’s Tennis Association, and is the youngest player ranked in the top ten. Iga is the first player representing Poland to win a Grand Slam singles title. She will be hard to beat. Also at 4/1 them odds are in our opinion too high.

Cori Gauff @14/1

An absolute star in the making. She is the youngest player ranked in the top 100 by the Women’s Tennis Association and has a career-high ranking of world No. 13 in singles and No. 5 in doubles, both achieved on 6 June 2022. Could potentially be a repeat final of last years French open vs Iga if our picks are correct.
