The French Open, also known as Roland-Garros, is a major tennis tournament held over two weeks at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, beginning in late May each year. The tournament and venue are named after the French aviator Roland Garros.

Main Picks:

Marketa Vondrousova vs Katie Volynets

Total sets 3 @7/4

There will be many long rallies in this match. Vondrousova will be probably play more aggressively than normal against the patient and athletic Volynets, who is enjoying a very good season so far. This could tighter than many expect but the former runner-up in Paris should have enough craftiness to get herself out of trouble.

Jana Fett vs Marie Bouzkova

Bouzkova 2-0 @10/11

This is just Jana Fett’s sixth Grand Slam match of her career. World No. 42 Marie Bouzkova will roll.

Ons Jabeur vs Camila Osorio

Jabeur 2-0 @10/11

Ons Jabeur is one of the favorites to win this event, and rightfully so. She will have no problem getting by Osorio.

Sebastian Korda vs Soon-woo Kwon

Korda 3-0 @1/1

While Kwon can be an unpredictable player, Sebastian Korda should have far too much for him. Wouldn’t be surprising if the South Korean manages to nick in a set in what should be a Korda win.

Matteo Arnaldi vs Alexandre Muller

Muller ML @11/8

Arnaldi took down Fils again and that’s a matchup where the Italian plays with so much clarity, shrinking the court and forcing him to overhit. It’s opponents like Muller he’s struggling with recently as he can’t quite get the balance right. While he is the more talented player, the Frenchman has got some form back too and he’ll make Arnaldi have to play extremely sharp to have a shot at claiming the win. That’s just what he does.

Hubert Hurkacz vs Brandon Nakashima

Over 40.5 games @5/6

If we’re going to judge both players by their first-round performances, then the upset bells are out here. If Nakashima can turn the Pole’s big serves into rallies, there’s no reason he can’t hold out for a win. That said Hurkacz is able to switch it up so could be a close game hence the safe pick.

Jannik Sinner vs Richard Gasquet

Sinner 3-0 @4/9

Richard Gasquet rolled back the years to upset Borna Coric in the first round albeit with two tie-breakers. It will be a decent memory to what should be his last French Open of his career as he steps on court against one of the true elites of the game. The Italian will take this in straight sets.
