Our Picks:
Kings vs Cavs – Under 234 @10/11
The Kings this year have averaged 103 points on the road against teams in the top 10 for defensive ratings (the Cavs are). The Cavs have faced a top 10 road defense this year 6 times and only one of those games went over this number. The Cavs have also averaged 106 against top 10 road defenses at home this year. The Cavs have averaged 106 at home against teams that are top 10 in Points in the paint defense on the road (Kings are 11th). we really are kind of surprised at how high this line is and the Kings are at the end of a long road trip so we expect their legs to be tired.
Hawks ML @29/20 vs Clippers
The Clippers have been awful on road back to backs this year. They have one win and it was against the Celtics who didn’t break 100. If the Clippers if they want to win this game will have to make it ugly they aren’t going to win a high scoring game because they have averaged 117 points on road back to backs. Meanwhile they are playing maybe the best offensive team in the league right now on their current homestand are averaging a 136 points. The Clippers are 5-3 when playing teams with a bottom 10 defense and top 13 offense but in two of their wins its because they kept the top 13 offense to below 115 in four of those games. But with a total around 244 we think the Hawks are gonna score a lot. and just think the Clippers legs are gonna give out on the end of a six game road trip against a red hot offense.
Hornets +12.5 @10/11 vs Lakers
We cannot believe were coming back here after how bad they were against the Pacers. It’s just that this is too many points against a team that is coming off two huge wins but are still 9-17 on the road this year. Lebron or AD play but really doubt both play against the Hornets at the end of a road trip. The Knicks game the Knicks were super beat up and didn’t have any scoring outside of Brunson who the Lakers doubled. Then they beat the Celtics who just played really badly. This Hornets team you can’t really find stats that would make me pick them because their lineup is completely different, they have had success against bottom 10 offenses which the Lakers are. There is an outside chance Lamelo plays but we really doubt it. This is just a fade on the Lakers who have beaten contenders on off nights and think are gonna struggle with a Hornets team desperate for a win.
Mavericks vs 76ers – Over 243.0 @10/11
We don’t think Luka plays and this still soars Over, the Mavericks with Kyrie playing and Luka on the bench this year have scored 94, 108, 128, 125, 139. The two games they didn’t break 110 was against top 10 defenses. Meanwhile the Sixers since Embiid went down in golden state and Maxey has been the primary option they have dropped 127 and 121. We think this is two injury ravaged teams that won’t play defense and especially don’t when their stars are down. Again not many stats to go off of with how different these lineups are than usual.
