The National Hockey League is a professional ice hockey league in North America comprising 32 teams, 25 in the United States and 7 in Canada. The Stanley Cup, the oldest professional sports trophy in North America, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season.
Our Picks:
Buffalo Sabers +1.5 @10/13 vs New York Rangers.
The Rangers have been fantastic so far, especially at home. They have been great defensively and their offense isn’t far behind. Today they are starting Shesterkin in net, who after some shaky starts seems to have gone back to his old self. They have also won 4 of their 5 games as home favs but have covered just 2. On the other hand, while the Sabers have struggled defensively on the road, and even though they have a terrible record straight up as dogs, they have managed to cover on 7 of their 9 games as road dogs. Also, UPL has been playing better recently in net for the Sabers, so we like their chances to keep this one close.
Florida Panthers ML @10/13 vs Ottawa Senators.
We see two teams that have been struggling in two different aspects of the game, especially when we consider their play at home and away. The Sens have been great offensively but have struggled on defense. The Panthers are in the opposite situation. They have had a great defense but have struggled finding the net. These trends could continue tonight considering the starting goalies. Bobrovsky has been playing well, while Korpsialo has been serviceable but not as good as expected. This could be a close game, but the Panthers have won 4 of their 5 games as road favs while the Sens are 1-2 as home dogs.
Boston Bruins -1.5 @20/21 vs Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Jackets are getting the Bruins at a moment where they aren’t playing at their best, but they still remain the better team and have the clear advantage in net tonight. The Bruins still have a great defense, and we don’t trust the Jackets to score many goals on them. Boston has also covered all the games they have won as road favs this season, even though that is just 5 of their 9 games. However, the Jackets have been just average covering as home dogs, and we don’t think being just average is going to cut it tonight, especially it being a back-to-back. Give us the Bruins -1.5 at these odds.
Colorado Avalanche ML @10/13 vs Tampa Bay Lightning.
Both teams have been playing really well as of late. The Lightning finally got Vasilevsky back and he is expected to start today. He definitely makes them a more dangerous team to face and could be the solution to some of their defensive problems. However, Colorado has been exceptional at home and any team who goes there should have a tough time. As we was saying, the Avs have been fantastic both on offense and on defense at home, while the Lightning while being able to score a lot of goals, they have also allowed a lot as well. If this game was in Tampa we would probably have stayed away, but you have to take the Avs at home at these odds.
Flames ML @20/21 vs Golden Knights
Calgary has been playing much better the last few games but keeping winning 1 losing 1. Road trip to Seattle (W), to Nashville (L) – but NSH is playing strong right now, Dallas (W), stunning win, and Colorado (L) 3-1 close game with Prosvetov playing well. We really love this Flames top 9 right now, Zary is back from being banged up.
