NHL is Back
Stanley Cup Tips
The NHL Season is here and so do our daily betting picks.
The National Hockey League is a professional ice hockey league in North America comprising 32 teams, 25 in the United States and 7 in Canada. The Stanley Cup, the oldest professional sports trophy in North America, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season.
Our Picks:
Red Wings ML @29/20 vs Rangers
The Red Wings have a few injuries themselves, but not to some of their best players. The Red Wings come into this game coming off a comeback win vs the Bruins and sit at 7-4-1 on the season. The Red Wings have one of the top offensive units in the NHL this season sitting at 4th in goals for and 6th for their power play percentage. They are a bit leaky in the back end and in goal, but think they should be able to outscore the Rangers here with the Rangers missing their best defensive player and likely putting in their backup goaltender.
Predators ML @23/20 vs Flames
We like the Predators here, the first being the Flames are down their top goal scorer and offense man Mangiapane as he serves his one game suspension for his hit on Jared McCann. The second being the expected goalies, Saros has not looked great to start this season but in our opinion he is much more talented than the Flames Markstrom. Were looking for the Preds defense and Saros to step up against the hindered Calgary offense.
Flyers -1.5 @23/20 vs Sharks
This one is simple fade. The. Sharks. They accomplished a notable NHL milestone on Saturday. Not one you’d want though, allowing 10 or more goals in consecutive games since the Boston Bruin in *checks notes* 1965. Their 12 goals and minus 42 goal differential is the worst ever for an NHL team through 11 games. The 11 losses to open the season is tied for 2nd in NHL history, they get 4 more and they are tied with the 1940’s Rangers. The sharks are historically bad right now and to put it simply, fade material.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs Montreal Canadiens – Over 6.5 Total Goals @10/11
Liking the totals in this matchup as we have Tampa’s backup goaltender Tompkins (0-2-0 3.61GAA .891SV%) vs a weaker overperforming Montreal. Both Montreal goaltenders are not true starters. Jake Allen has been a backup or split time since his career in St. Louis and Montembeault was a backup in Florida and split time in Montreal. So keeping it simple, we see goals.
Ducks ML @7/5 vs Penguins
Ducks keep getting disrespected, and at home to a team that everybody is hoping “is this the night it all finally starts to click?” Lets hope that’s tonight.
What There Playing For:
The Stanley Cup Finals in ice hockey is the National Hockey League’s championship series to determine the winner of the Stanley Cup, North America’s oldest professional sports trophy.
