The 2023 World Series gets underway Friday 27th October, as the Texas Rangers take on the Arizona Diamondbacks for the right to call themselves champion. The Rangers reached this point after taking down the Houston Astros in the ALCS, while the Diamondbacks knocked off the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLCS.
The two losing semi-finalists were last years world series contenders.

Small sample size with these pitchers facing off against the batters from the opposing lineups, but Gallen is limiting the Rangers batters to an xwOBA of .230. Gallen’s numbers are extremely underwhelming to this point in the playoffs for someone who was pitching at a Cy Young caliber for a good portion of the season. He has allowed 13 Runs over 22.1 IP’s this Post Season, it is honestly shocking the Diamondbacks are where they are given that. Eovaldi is on fire this post season, allowing only 7 runs over 26 IP’s and going 4-0 in games started. Arizona has done an amazing job of taking the opposition out of games early on the road this post season and they know tonight will require more of the same. We anticipate this game to be low scoring, both pitchers going into the 5th inning and it becoming a bullpen game to decide who wins. Ultimately, We like the D-Backs to take game 1 outright on the road too.
