Although betting on this particular topic may seem unusual to most people, we found it intriguing enough to conduct some research. While a bet of -520 doesn’t carry much excitement, it appears highly unlikely that Oppenheimer can surpass Barbie. Just three weeks ago, it was predicted that Barbie would generate a maximum of £50 million, even by their own studio’s original projection of £40 million. However, recent projections now estimate it to be closer to £100 million. Despite this, we still have a strong inclination towards the under.
As for Oppenheimer, most projections fall within the £30-40 million range, making the over/under a pass unless there is some significant last-minute news that could sway the outcome.
With all that said there is one major thing to remember with Oppenheimer its filmed with IMAX and directed by Nolan… WHY WOULD YOU NOT SEE THIS FILM IN A CINEMA!!!! wait till it comes out to watch at home and lose 75% of the experience that would be Ludacris so as we will follow on with our picks the reasoning will make perfect sense.

So total grossing yes Barbie will likely have it, but opening weekend is a different story in our opinion due to the audience the films will attract and with school holidays pending we think the more grown up crowd flocks before the kids take over.

Barbie – Over £49.5 Million Opening weekend @4/5
Take the over on both double it up we are calling a lock, with all the strikes in the film industry been in the press people are going movies more then ever. Don’t delay get your money on.
