The NHL action comes thick and fast throughout the regular season with each team playing 82 games, totalling 1,271 total regular-season games. We at Degen bring the best picks from the almost daily action.

Our Picks:

Carolina Hurricanes ML @4/6 vs Florida Panthers

In the opening game of the series the Hurricanes controlled the majority of the play in regulation although it was close. 6th longest game in NHL history, it went to the end of 4th OT before the Panthers finally won 3-2. These teams practically played 2+ games back to back on Thursday.

The starter for the Panthers will be Sergei Bobrovsky, he has been playing great lately and has  only allowed 2 GA in each of his last 6 starts. Perhaps the best goalie left in the playoffs. The Hurricanes goalie is unconfirmed. Frederik Andersen started game #1 and has been playing good lately, but he does have injury history so they may give him rest after a marathon game. Antti Raanta played in a tandem role in the regular season and started at the beginning of the playoffs and was solid. Not too worried about who the Hurricanes start, both good goalies. There is an edge for the Panthers in net however.

The Hurricanes have not lost consecutive games this post-season. If the Hurricanes lose both these home games, this series is likely over with how they have struggled on the road compared to at home. We like the veteran Hurricanes to bounce back with a sense of desperation after a tough loss and pickup a regulation win.
