Our Picks:

Denver Nuggets vs LA Lakers. Denver Nuggets -6 @10/11

Denver comes into this matchup as the 1 seed of the Western Conference, hosting the 7 seed Lakers (who are better than their seeding due to some midseason trades). Denver has the advantage of not only home court, but an extra day of rest after wrapping up their series on Thursday night compared to the Lakers finishing their series on Friday.

Denver has not lost at home yet in the playoffs and has taken care of business, winning by 29, 9, 3, 18, 10, and 16 in their home playoff games. They are of course led by Nikola Jokic and might just have the deepest team in the league, certainly in the entire Western Conference.

The Lakers are of course led by Lebron James and Anthony Davis, who will be the most important player of the series. Although Lebron is the star, the Lakers go as AD goes and he’s now their best player. He’ll be tasked with slowing Jokic down, and has shown a tendency of switching off when things go wrong. In addition, Lebron has famously/notoriously taken game one as a “feeling out” period to see the best way to attack their opponents throughout the 7 game series.

We don’t think the Lakers have the horses to hang with the Nuggets tonight, or for the series for that matter (which we think will be 4-2 or maybe 4-1 Nuggets) as Denver is just too deep.
