Kansas City Royals vs Minnesota Twins ML @10/27
Forget about Pablo Lopez horrendous start against the Washington Nationals, he’s a solid pitcher. Pablo is much better than his last performance! we expect him to bounce back today against a near bottom last AB (At-Bat) team. Kansas City Royals are now the worst BA (batting average) team at .218 and they are second to worst to score runs per game, scoring just 3.18 on average per game. Although Pablo is 1-2 this season, he has a 3.00 ERA and averages 7 K’s per game! He also recently pitched against the Royals, which was on MLB opening day! He pitched outstanding! He struck out 8, allow just 2 hits, and no runs! We expect him to have a similar performance or better!
Washington Nationals ML @21/20 vs Pittsburgh Pirates
Our model has the nationals winning this game outright 4-3. Also it doesn’t feel great fading the red hot Pirates but we have to trust the historic stats and current trends. Best of luck to everyone!
Los Angeles Angels ML @6/5 vs Brewers
The 14-12 Angels will visit the 16-9 Brewers on Friday night to start a weekend series in Milwaukee. The starting pitching matchup is admittedly ugly with Tyler Anderson taking the mound for LA and Wade Miley taking the mound for Milwaukee. On paper, these pitchers look very similar as they’re both left-handed-pitchers who won’t dazzle with excellent stuff or big strikeout totals. They’ll both rely on locating their pitches well and getting soft groundball outs. with neither team really getting an advantage from their starter.
The difference in this game is going to come down to the bats, where we believe the Angels have a great advantage. With a full lineup, the Angels should be one of the best lineups in the MLB behind Trout, Ohtani, Ward, and a handful of other competent bats like Rendon and Renfroe (lineup projected 115 wRC+). For the Brewers, the lineup is certainly above average (lineup projected 104 wRC+), but they lack elite bats like the Angels.
TEX Rangers RL -1.5 @21/20 vs Yankees
Fade Clarke Schmidt, this dude has been atrocious. He’s pitched 5 innings just once and has been consistently hit hard. The Yankees also burned their long reliever yesterday, meaning it could be a long day for the bullpen if Schmidt exits early. Jacob deGrom pitches for the Rangers and while the initial numbers don’t pop off the page, his underlying numbers are excellent. He gets to face a Yankees lineup that has been struggling to score runs lately and likely will be without Aaron Judge. We like the Rangers to win and cover.
Other Picks:
Cubs -1.5 @6/4 — pitching matchup is close but we give the slight edge to Stro. He’s rocking a 2.7 barrel percentage and he keeps the ball on the ground with his sinker. Luzardo has a 9.7 barrel percentage but is also elite. Cubs offense is really good. They run the bases, have slugging, have hot hitters. Marlins can really struggle to score. Line has already shifted 20 since we placed this.
Rays -1.5 @11/10 — Not much to say here. Run differential is staggering. 1.5 is also plus money but Giolito has blow up potential and the White Sox are bad. The bullpen is embarrassing. White Sox offense is also struggling. Open baseball savant. Go to preview matchup and look at the Rays lineup.
