Major League Baseball Tips

Home Run

Its the early part of the 2023 Baseball season and we only try to pick our most confident matches at this early stage.

Major League Baseball matches come almost daily so check back for our best predictions.

Today’s Top Picks:

Astros ML @20/33 vs Pirates

We see Houston wining this series, last time the Astros lost a 4 straight series to start a season was 2011 and they went against Rich Hill. Looking to recoup yesterdays loss so have a pretty decent stake in this but were feeling good about this one.

Red Sox ML @21/20 vs Rays

We think Boston’s winning one of these games. The streaks not gonna go forever and having plus odds every game vs TB sets this as a huge opportunity to ride to a decent win in the end, if you have the bankroll this will pay.

Twins -1.5  @13/10 vs CHI White Sox

Twins are one of baseballs best. Record sits at 6-4 and no matter what resource you’re looking at, everyone expects a top 10 team.

Sonny Gray is on the mound today. My man has recaptured the juice. He’s got 2 starts to the tune of 12IP/0.75 ERA/14K’s. The underlying metrics don’t love him as much. His barrel percent sits right at MLB average, his solid hit % is at 17.2% with MLB average at 5.7%. Guys are making contact and making good contact. BUT, his weak contact % is also 2x MLB average, his K% is way above league average and he’s getting people to chase above league average.

Orioles ML @20/37 vs Athletics

Both pitchers in this matchup are subpar, but we think Kremer is better than Waldichuk. We also think the O’s bats are much better than the A’s. Expect this game to be a high scoring one but for the Orioles to get win.

Cubs ML @10/11 vs Mariners

We have two good pitchers on the mound today with Stroman for the Cubs and Gilbert for the Mariners. However, Gilbert is coming off a very lousy start, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs in just 4 innings pitched. The mariners bullpen has been nothing short of abysmal to start the season, and there seems to be no change in sight. If Gilbert can’t go at least 6, we expect the Cubs to have a field day again, much like they did yesterday, bolstering 14 runs.

New York Mets ML @20/23 vs Padres

Truth be told, Megill has faced the Marlins twice but nonetheless we think the Mets will be able to support him nicely here. When Blake Snell is off his game he’s off his game and right now that’s where he’s at.

The Padres just went through a good part of their bullpen in yesterdays game while the Metropolitans have the big guns rested up for tomorrow. We like the Mets to wear down Snell and this Padres bullpen and take the W.

Cardinals -1.5 @4/5 vs Rockies

Looking at everything for this match there’s one thing we’ve been waiting to happen and think today starts it all. This is the Cardinals getting back on track with their season. They do this with Jack Flaherty. Jack has only given up a total of 4 hits and 2 runs in 10 innings pitched combined in his two starts so far this season. Been one of the best SP so far this season and is gonna keep the average hitting Rockies at bay.

Phillies RL -1.5 @11/10 vs Marlins

The Phillies and Marlins are so far 1-1 in their 3 game series. The pitching quality drops for the Marlins today as they send Edward Cabrera to the mound, who is averaging over 2 walks an inning so far this season. Zack Wheeler has had a slow start to the season by his standards but he has a 2.21 ERA at home since 2021. Wheeler also has a career 2.41 ERA against the Marlins. The Marlins currently rank second to last in runs per game at 2.73, we really like the Phils run line here.
