Yankees ML @13/10 vs Guardians – Dog Pick
German is garbage, but Bieber can give up runs to the Yankees. Guardians played mostly the Mariners going 4-3 against them and the As, where they needed to go extra innings twice to get both wins. Yankees +19 run differential is 3rd biggest with only Rays and Brewers being larger. Guardians have a +5 run differential.
Astros ML @5/9 vs Pirates
Houston are due to win a series. Lost a rough one to Detroit last week and they need to have a good week before they hit a stretch of the Blue jays, Rays, Braves, and Phillies so were riding the Astros this week.
Braves ML @25/48 vs Reds
Lost 3 in a row to SD, after a terrible showing in the last game we think they’ll bounce back vs a team they’re much better than on paper. Elder is playing for his spot and he needs a good start so he’ll do good enough to get them a win. Should be a good week for Atlanta as well as they have Cincinnati avoiding Lodolo in the rotation and then getting KC to end the week.
Los Angeles Angels -1.5 @20/27 vs Washington Nationals
Let’s keep it simple. We FADE Patrick Corbin. Corbin looks again to be in contention for worst starting pitcher in the Bigs. And who has the highest .OPS for the season against lefties..? that would be the Angels. This could be an ugly big number put up here from the Halos. Let’s go -1.5.
Seattle Mariners -1.5 @1/1 vs Cubs
Not gonna lie, we do like the Cubs this year and think they are a sneaky good team, but we don’t think they will be able to sneak their way out of this one. The Mariners are starting Luis Castillo, someone who’s looking to solidify his status as an elite pitcher this year with two great performances so far in the season. In his first game he allowed only 1 hit and no runs in 6 innings, and in the second game he allowed just 2 hits and no runs in 5 innings. This second game was particularly impressive as it was against the Angels, who have an amazing batting lineup and are top 5 in runs scored so far this season. As mentioned previously, we do like the Cubs and think they have some good underrated bats but going up against a pitcher like Castillo is really tough for anybody, the Cubs aren’t going to be an outlier by any means.
Marlins ML @20/23 vs Phillies
Sandy Alcantara is coming off a complete game shutout against the Twins so we expect him to be sharp against this Phillies team that has looked slow out the gates. Matt Strahm has looked solid so far but we trust Sandy to go deep in this game and the Marlins to do just enough to get the win here.
Oakland Athletics vs Baltimore Orioles -1.5 @23/20
A’s are on their way to become one of those infamous 100+ loss teams in MLB this season because their owners are too cheap to spend. So far, they’re 2-7. Orioles haven’t been exactly a shining star in this young season so far unlike their division rivals in the Rays, but they’ve had a tough couple of series to start the season against the Red Sox, Rangers and Yankees.
