TB Rays RL -1.5 @5/6 vs Athletics
Ken Waldichuck gave up 9 hits and 3 HRs his first start. Zach Eflin gave up 1 run his first start and is the most expensive FA in Rays history, they wouldn’t pay him if they didn’t think he could unlock his potential. The Rays are 6-0 after series with the Tigers & Nats, probably the easiest opening schedule in the league. They now get another bottom feeder in the A’s. Were backing the home team who has won every game by at least 4 runs this season.
Cincinatti Reds vs Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 @11/10 – Dog Pick
While the Phillies are off to a very poor 1-5 start, we expect them to start to right the ship as they start a new series vs the Reds in Philly. The Phillies have played two of the better teams in the league while the Reds have faced two of the worst (Cubs is arguable). Let’s start with the pitching matchup, the Phillies are starting Zack Wheeler who is coming off a very bad week one start as he only went 4 innings and allowed 4 earned. Wheeler the past three seasons has been a very consistent sub 3 ERA pitcher and expect him to get back to those ways today. Wheeler also pitched much better at home in 2022, posting a 1.85 ERA. On the other side of the ball is Hunter Greene, who is either going to throw an absolute gem, or struggle with command, but we know he will get lots of strikeouts. His week one start was also bad as he went 3.1 innings allowing 3 earned. The Phillies have the significantly better lineup but have hit poor to start the year only scoring 1 run in 3 of their first 6 games. In this one the Phillies should get the bats started and put up some runs against the young ace in Greene, but if not, lets trust Wheeler to pitch deep into this game in front of the home crowd to get this team back on track.

There isn’t a head-to-head series in MLB history more lopsided than the New York Yankees (4-2) facing the Baltimore Orioles (3-3), as New York’s run differential all-time against Baltimore is +2,121. However, each new season presents a new opportunity, and for the Orioles, getting the first punch on the 2022 AL East champions is right in front of them. They won the first meeting last year, although the Yankees won the season series 12-7, so there’s recent precedent for it.
