Stanley Cup Tips
The NHL action comes thick and fast throughout the regular season with each team playing 82 games, totalling 1,271 total regular-season games. We at Degen bring the best picks from the almost daily action.
Our Picks: –
Carolina Hurricanes ML @5/9 vs Pittsburgh Penguins
The Hurricanes will be hosting the Penguins. The last three times these teams have met the Canes have come out with the W and the Canes haven’t lost on home ice to the Penguins since 2018. All three of those games were one goal affairs. We think that with the Penguins starting goaltender on IR and coming off of a back to back will give the Canes an advantage here. The Canes are playing quality hockey this year but have hit a bit of a rough patch, just like many of the best teams in the league. To me this looks like a great bounce back spot for the Canes. They will be motivated to play hard as this is a division rivalry that could have playoff implications.
Boston Bruins ML @5/8 vs Toronto Maple Leafs
The last time these two teams faced off was in November in Toronto and Toronto took a 2-1 regulation win over Boston. Boston is 14-1-1 at home this season and just took their first regulation loss against Seattle on Thursday night. On the other hand, Toronto just took a 4-1 loss in Detroit so I suspect that this will be a close game, however we believe that Boston will want this more than Toronto after taking their first home regulation loss.
Vegas Golden knights ML @4/6 vs Edmonton Oilers
Both Vegas and Edmonton on back to backs Edmonton with a solid win against the sharks but it’s the sharks . We like Vegas in this spot purely off the fact Pickard seems to be starting for the Oilers against a solid Vegas team.
Avalanche ML @20/37 vs Senators
The defending champs who are still not looking good and not playing as good as we know they can. They come against a Senators team who is still in a struggling phase themselves. This should be a game that can kickstart the start of the Avs to start climbing back into the playoff mix.
Dallas Stars ML @5/6 vs Cal Flames
The Dallas Stars will be hosting the Calgary Flames for their first game of the season. These teams have built a little bit of a rivalry as of the last couple years and this should be a fun game to tune into! The Stars had a gutting loss against the Rangers in their last outing (in which we thought they played a great game). We believe the Stars have an amazing bounce back opportunity at home here against a team who has not looked the greatest and we expect them to be able to capitalize here.
Other Picks:
Kraken -1.5 @21/20 vs Blackhawks
We think Seattle keeps up their hot streak on the road against one of the worst teams in the NHL. The Blackhawks have managed to generate a 3-game winning streak but we think that comes to an end against a red hot Kraken team.
Kings ML @5/6 vs Devils
The Devils will be coming off a back to back and it is possible that they could have their back up in net. Might want to wait and see who’s in goal, but we like the bet either way. The Kings have been successful lately, especially on home ice. The Kings have won this match up the last three times they have faced each other.
