Our Picks:
New Orleans Pelicans vs Brooklyn Nets -4 @10/11
Though they lost their last game against the Bulls, the Nets are 17-2 over their last 19 games and are getting it done impressively on both sides of the floor. While they’ve been worse on the road, they are still above average and being that they are fully healthy, will give this banged up Pelicans team a run for their money on Friday.
The Pelicans are undoubtedly without Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson tonight, and very well could be without two additional big men in Larry Nance Jr. and Willy Hernangomez. Why is that significant? They’ll have just three bigs between Jaxson Hayes, Jonas Valanciuanas, and Naji Marshall to attack the paint. While Valanciuanas cant score around the rim and outside, the others aren’t prolific and inside the three point line is where the Nets defense thrives.
Pacers -1.5 @10/11 vs Blazers
The Pacers-Blazers match up is incredibly close on paper and ATS. Both of these teams have very similar records (POR 19-18 IND 21-18) and both of these teams are some of the best at covering the spread (IND 61.5%, first in the NBA, Portland 59.5%, second in the NBA). We think this game will be extremely close, as the Pacers come off a tough OT loss in Philly and are hot at home (5 of their last 5). The Blazers have a few GTD injuries which could tip the balance handily into the Pacer’s favour while the Pacers have a clean injury report. We also really like this stat: pacers cover the spread 64.7% of the time after a loss.
Thunder vs Wizards – Over 231.0 Point @10/11
Thunder won the first meeting, 121-120. Wiz struggle on the defensive end of the court and that’s just a fact for anyone who has watched this team play lately. OKC plays exceptionally well on home court as well, posting a whopping 150pts on the Celtics their last game. Don’t get us wrong though, plenty of reasons this total might not hit as well, 1 cold quarter is all it takes guys. So, As per usual, bet NBA totals cautiously.
Spurs ML @5/6 vs Pistons
The Spurs are better at home as their record suggests, while the Pistons’ struggle on the road is real. Backing the Spurs is a great value bet at super odds. Let’s start the weekend with a W.
