New York Knicks -4.5 @10/11 vs Golden State Warriors
The New York Knicks, who are taking on a Golden State team who is without Seth Curry’s brother. These two teams met earlier this season, with a healthy Golden State beating New York 111-101., The Knicks split the season series 1-1 with the Warriors last season, winning the second game against them without RJ Barrett. The Knicks have looked strong in December, after losing the first game they have won 7 straight since and have not looked back. One reason for this sudden return to winning for the Knicks has been the emergence of Quentin Grimes and Miles McBride’s defensive ability, and another has been Jalen Brunson’s playoff form emerging in mid December for a short burst. RJ Barrett has broken out of his early season slump, and don’t look now but even Julius Randle is shooting the ball efficiently…
As for Golden State, they are already without Steph Curry, and Andrew Wiggins will also be out with a groin injury, meaning this will be the Klay Thompson – Jordan Poole show. Since losing Curry, the Warriors lost to a Harden and Maxeyless sixers team, but were able to beat the Raps in Toronto off the back of a 43 point Jordan Poole performance, but also 17 points from Klay and surprisingly Draymond. Klay and Poole will be matched with Grimes and Barrett for a majority of their time on the floor, and those guys have held DeRozan, Haliburton, and Trae Young to under 20 points in the Knicks recent win streak.
With this recent stretch of defense the Knicks have won their games by an average 14 points, and we are betting that it will continue against a short handed Warriors team that will find it difficult to score against the wings of the Knicks. Were predicting that the Knicks will split the series with the Warriors like last season after showing their might defensively, beating Golden State 114-91.
Miami Heat -4.5 @10/11 vs Chicago Bears
The Bulls have been playing worse over the past couple of weeks and the Heat have done the opposite. Miami’s offense has had its own struggles, but Chicago’s defense has been far worse.
This is a home game for Miami and they should be able to find enough points against Chicago’s defense to cover the 5pts.
