Another famous title decider in the same vein of 2008, 2009 and 2012 is not on the cards this time around because of both titles already being wrapped up for Max Verstappen and Red Bull, but the early forecasts indicate that tricky conditions at Interlagos could await the drivers once again.

With it being a sprint weekend, FP1 and qualifying will take place on Friday, with overcast conditions expected and predictions of up to a 70% chance of rain during the day.

Last year’s Sao Paulo Grand Prix will go down as a classic at Interlagos, but while the stakes are not as high this time around at the front, Formula 1 returns to one of its most popular and historic venues for the penultimate race of the 2022 season.

Lewis Hamilton, who was officially made an honorary citizen of Brazil earlier in the week, took his third career victory around Interlagos after coming through the field and passing Max Verstappen late on, surging through the field in sprint qualifying and the race after being disqualified from qualifying.

But that’s now a distant memory and this season Hamilton’s main is to win and keep up his record of winning at least 1 GP in each of his pro seasons, so with only 2 races remaining this surely is it?

Our Picks:

Winner: Lewis Hamilton @5/1

Podium: Charles Leclerc @4/7

Podium: Max Verstappen @1/2

The third and final Sprint of the season once again sees a change to the weekend format with qualifying on Friday, the mini grid-setting race on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday.

Max Verstappen and Red Bull made history with a record 14th victory last time out in Mexico City, with the Dutchman showing metronomic consistency, while Mercedes’ compromised strategy left Lewis Hamilton second.

Home hero Sergio Perez completed the podium to the delight of the fans as McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo, whose future remains undecided, collided with Yuki Tsunoda before carving through the field to take P7 and driver of the day.
