Washington played a very hard fought game tonight in Carolina in which they lost in OT. So factoring in the Caps are coming off an exhausting game, overnight travel and very likely starting their backup goalie tomorrow, we have to take the Golden Knights here. Also, very similar to my logic for taking the Devils last game, the Knights (9.1, 2nd in league) are greatly ahead of the Caps (-4.4, 27th in league) in expected goal differential, meaning they are scoring goals on high quality chances way more than they are giving up, and the Caps are the opposite. This is a very important stat to take into consideration. All things considered give me the Knights here.
