Our Picks:

Cavaliers +3 @10/11 vs. Raptors

Cleveland allowed the fifth least amount of points last season and they also had the fifth-best adjusted defensive rating, while with the current changes in the team, were sure they will be one of the better performing teams. It’s a similar prediction to yesterday, where the Raptors didn’t make big changes, while the Cavaliers roster is not much deeper. Their defence has been very stable, and with the changes they have applied we see them being much better also on the offensive end of the floor. We are so hyped to see a healthy Jarrett Allen, as well as Garland playing together with Mitchell. The +3 spread might have been adequate past season, but we think +3 this season is a big underestimate.

 

Washington Wizards ML @8/11 vs. Indiana Pacers

Indiana is in the midst of a rebuild, the Wizards are in the middle of mediocrity. A starting lineup consisting of Beal, Porzingis, and Kuzma is better than a lineup of Turner, Halliburton, and Buddy Hield. Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija, Daniel Gafford are all good 2nd options that will contribute to the team. Pacers are likely to be in a tanking situation, and the Wizards won 2/4 meetings last year. One being when they started out the season strong, and one after the trade deadline, when Bradley Beal was out for the season and Pacers traded away a lot of their key players. First games of the season could be difficult to bet on, as previous season stats are not always the best indicator of future success.

 

Portland Trail Blazers @ Sacramento Kings -1.5 @5/6

We like what the Kings did this offseason with the additions of Mike Brown (HC), Keegan Murray, and Malik Monk. We know the Kings have a good offense, and now they have even more shooting options. And with Brown as coach, we believe they find a way to make some stops on the defensive end. The Blazers can’t guard to save their life, so we’ll take the Kings here pretty confidently. They were 2-1 SU and ATS vs the Blazers last year, and they whooped up on them in preseason.

 

Denver Nuggets -7.5 @10/11 vs Utah Jazz

Denver is back to almost healthy in a spread that we honestly find strange. Denver’s big 3 is back after like 2 years and we think Murray should play good minutes with a healthy MPJ as other scoring options aside from the Joker. Utah on the other hand traded their whole team away. My model has this at Denver -12.5 so were going to take the value here.
