The most successful team in the T20 World Cup West Indies will begin their campaign in the eighth edition of the marquee event against Scotland at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart on Monday.
It looks like an easy pick with the Indies been so far above Scotland in rank, but in this format anything could happen.
West Indies recently played Australia in a two-match Twenty20 International series. They didn’t win a single game. They flipped the tables by defeating the United Arab Emirates in their first warm-up game. Their following game was rained out, although they would have gained confidence ahead of the world tournament.
Scotland, on the other hand, defeated the Netherlands in their opening warm-up game. It was a hard-fought battle. The next warm-up match against the UAE was rained off due to persistent rain, but they will be confident moving into the World Cup.

Zimbabwe will square off against Ireland in an all-important Group B clash of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Both teams will be vying for a coveted Super 12 spot, and winning this match will make their road a little easier. Ireland have played plenty of T20s this year and have hence had a lot of practice. The Bellerive Oval in Hobart will play host for all the six First Round fixtures.
