Ramos vs Medvedev – Ramos Handicap +6 Games @ 1.79
Medvedev probably just wants this season to end as he pretty much did nothing for the last 9 months to his standards. After that demoralizing defeat in the championship match of the Australian Open in January he just didn’t seem to get his optimal form back.
Ramos Vinolas is mostly a clay specialist who had a successful season with a tournament win in Cordoba and four semi final results on his best surface. Indoor is clearly not the surface that he loves to play but I can recognize that the Spaniard is always a player that fights for each match and his lefty forehand is quite powerful and can probably produce some good winners here in Nur Sultan. There’s no denial that Medvedev is way better than Ramos but our player should be able to put returns back in play and ask for Medvedev to deliver answers while also having a decent 1st serve to win some service games.
Medvedev for me at the moment is not a guy who deserves 1.07 odds against anyone with how inconsistent he has been and if we look at his only Indoor match this season he ended up losing to Wawrinka in Metz where he also had similar odds to win. This will be a 2 unit play simply because there’s always a small risk of Medvedev playing a perfect game but for me a 6 game handicap at Indoor is honestly huge with how easy it is to get points on serve.
The Astana Open is a professional tennis tournament, held in Astana, Kazakhstan, at the end of October each year since 2020. The tournament is held on indoor hard courts. In 2020, it was primarily organised due to the cancellation of many tournaments during the 2020 season, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
