Rugby World Cup 2021 Tips
Better Late Then Never

The 2021 Rugby League World Cup will be the sixteenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup and will be held in England from 15 October 2022 to 19 November 2022. It was originally due to be held between 23 October 2021 and 27 November 2021, however the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent withdrawals of Australia and New Zealand caused the tournament to be postponed. The tournament will be competed for by 16 teams, an increase of two from the previous two tournaments.

For the first time, the Rugby League World Cup will be run in parity with the women’s and wheelchair tournaments with all participants being paid the same, while all 61 matches across three tournaments will be broadcast live.

Australia are the reigning champions in the men’s and women’s tournaments after triumphing on their home turf in 2017, while France are the defending wheelchair champions.

Opening Weekend Fixtures Men’s:

Saturday, October 15: England vs Samoa (St James’ Park, 2.30pm), Australia vs Fiji (Headingley, 7.30pm).

Sunday, October 16: Scotland vs Italy (Kingston Park, 2.30pm), Jamaica vs Ireland (Headingley, 5pm), New Zealand vs Lebanon (Halliwell Jones Stadium, 7.30pm).

We will post daily picks through out the tournament, but here are our out right picks for winner and runner up in each series.

Men’s Outright:

New Zealand @7/2

The New Zealand national rugby league team has represented New Zealand in rugby league since 1907. Administered by the New Zealand Rugby League, they are commonly known as the Kiwis, after the native bird of that name.

England @10/1

The England national rugby league team represents England in international rugby league. The team, largely formed from the Great Britain team.

Women’s Outright:

Australia @1/25

Pure and simple, the Aussie Women don’t lose. The Australia women’s national rugby league team, also known as the Australian Jillaroos, or Harvey Norman Jillaroos for sponsorship reasons.

New Zealand @10/1

The New Zealand women’s national rugby league team, also known as the Kiwi Ferns or New Zealand Kiwi Ferns, represents New Zealand in Women’s rugby league. This was a complete toss up with England Women but the Kiwi Ferns just edge it.

Wheelchair Outright:

England @NA

We don’t have odds on the wheelchair competition right now but England are grouped with Australia and we think will edge it.

France @N/A

Pooled in the second group we think the French will take the second spot.
