Washington was able to pull out game 2 of what is a revenge series and might be the most important series for the remainder of their season. I still don’t trust their bats, especially against Snell, and Paolo Espino is not as good as his ERA indicates. He is a reliever turned starter and since that role shift he has struggled mightily. Over starts in July and August he’s hovering at just under a 6 ERA with a WHIP of 1.47. Snell on the other hand has been nearly unhittable over his last 4 starts, pitching 22.2 innings allowing only 3 runs on 18 hits. Expect him to have yet another great outing against the depleted Nationals in an early afternoon start.
