Colorado Rockies ML @1/1 vs Arizona Diamondbacks
These two faced the opposition recently and both had incredible outings allowing just 2 runs over 7 innings. Marquez began the season horribly with well over a 6 ERA over the first two months, but has recently been solid (3.69 ERA in July). Like most pitchers, he’s much better away from the thin air of Coors Field so another great outing against the DBacks could be in order. Mad-Bum hasn’t been as stellar lately allowing at least 2 runs in each of his last 5 starts. Granted some of those outings he went deep into the game, but it just exemplifies how he’s been middle-of-the-road since April. With how dominant the Rockies are against left-handed pitchers I expect the Rockies to get to Mad-Bum for a few runs over the first five innings and Marquez to have another solid outing.
Texas Ranger vs Chicago White Sox ML @4/6
Let’s start with the White Sox, who have AL Cy Young candidate Dylan Cease on the bump tonight. He has been unreal this year, especially in his last 4 starts, where he’s 4-0 with a 0.36 (!!) ERA. I was going back and forth between taking Cease to Record a Win and the Double Result but ultimately decided on the Double Result because in his last 9 starts the Double Result is 8-1 and he’s got a record of 7-1, so for a slightly better record and a difference of 40 cents between the Win prop (-110) and the Double Result (+130) I went with the Double Result. Not only has Cease been pitching amazing lately but the Rangers haven’t been hitting, they’ve scored 10 runs over their last 4 games (2.5 runs per game) and 22 runs in their last 8 home games (2.75 runs per game). Cease is a Righty and the Rangers currently rank 20th in the MLB in average vs. RHP, so they’ve got their work cut out for them tonight.
