Derek Chisora v Kubrat Pulev II Boxing Betting & Predictions

Our Picks:

Kubrat Pulev to beat Derek Chisora @ 4/9

Kubrat Pulev to beat Derek Chisora on points @ TBC

Will the fight go the distance? – Yes @ TBC

Derek Chisora will be looking to claim his first heavyweight victory since October 2019 when he shares a ring with Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev for the second time in their careers. These two last faced off at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany back in 2016 with Pulev claiming a split decision that saw him win the vacant European heavyweight title. Chisora’s last three fights have all ended in defeat. He lost by unanimous decision against Oleksandr Usyk in October 2020, before suffering back-to-back defeats against Joseph Parker. He may have lost all three of those fights on points, but he showed promise in all of those contests. I admit he is a decent fighter, I just don’t see him making that crucial step up.

Pulev has won 29 of his 31 professional fights, with 14 coming by way of knockout, 14 by decision and one disqualification. His two defeats saw him knocked out by Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko which is nothing to be too embarrassed about. His comeback fight after his defeat to Joshua, saw him win on points against Jerry Forrest. If the same Pulev turns up that faced Joshua, then Chisora will be in for an easy night.

We don’t think Pulev who was knocked down three times will perform like that again. We also cannot see him knocking Chisora out. To KO Chisora, you will need to beat him up for a long time. We am backing Pulev to get his arm raised with a points decision.

Derek Chisora will be looking to gain a measure of revenge on Kubrat Pulev when they clash for the second time on July 9th at the O2 Arena.
