The United States Football League (USFL) is a professional American football minor league that began play on April 16, 2022. The inaugural 2022 season was played in its entirety in Birmingham, Alabama, except for the playoffs which will be played in Canton, Ohio, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
Although the league owns the trademarks of the old USFL, which operated for three seasons during the mid-1980s, the new USFL is not officially associated with that entity. This is the fourth attempt to launch a league using USFL naming, including prior attempts in 1945, 1983 and 2010.

Been following the league through the first couple weeks. A key thing here is that all games in were played in Birmingham. All teams probably lived there for the whole season. The championship is in Canton. The change of venue to a neutral site could present a problem for Birmingham, after a long run of home advantage.
