Football Transfer News 29/6/2022
Chelsea and Manchester United are closing in on their first signings of the summer transfer window in Tyrell Malacia, Frenkie de Jong and Raphinha, while Gabriel Jesus has undergone an Arsenal medical.
Raphinia To Chelsea: All But Done?
Chelsea’s bid has at this point trumped Arsenal, who had an opening bid rejected but are expected to go back in with an improved offer. Chelsea are also in for Raheem Sterling with Manchester City expecting to field a bid for the England international after Thomas Tuchel engaged Sterling over how he would fit in at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United Targets:
The Red Devils look to be close to sealing a move for Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia. Ligue 1’s Lyon looked to have the deal wrapped up but it appears that United have swooped in at the last minute to tempt him to Old Trafford.
There also edging closer to a deal for Frenkie de Jong.
Barcelona appear to be still holding out for an overall fee of around €75m from United. However, sources close to the negotiations claim that they are making ‘good progress.
Aston Villa News:
Rory Wilson has checked in for his Aston Villa medical, according to reports in Scotland. The Daily Record says the 16-year-old has been at Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow as he completes his transfer from Rangers to Villa.
Transfer insider’s claim that Chelsea ace Conor Gallagher could be targeted, as Gerrard is a big fan. The Villa boss has also made it clear he wants a midfielder although he is yet to speculate on names. Villa’s attacking midfielder Emiliano Buendia has been suggested as a potential player that could be sold this summer should Conor Gallagher arrive from Chelsea.
Other Transfer News:
Tottenham want to sign Brazil forward Richarlison, 25, and English winger Anthony Gordon, 21, from Everton in a double deal. Chelsea are also interested in Richarlison.
Liverpool and Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 30, is expected to leave at the end of the 2022-23 season as a free agent. Salah has scored 156 goals in 254 appearances since joining the Reds in 2017.
Arsenal have submitted a £35m offer for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez and appear to be leading Manchester United in the race for the 24-year-old Argentina international.
AC Milan are considering a move for Chelsea’s Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech, 29.
Barcelona will not improve their contract offer to France forward Ousmane Dembele, whose contract with the La Liga side ends on 30 June. The 25-year-old also has offers from Bayern Munich, Chelsea and PSG.
Dembele will make a decision about his future in the next 72 hours. (Sources)
Cardiff plan to launch a bid for former Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale next summer after the 32-year-old Welshman opted to sign for Los Angeles FC this week.
River Plate are waiting for a response from Uruguay forward Luis Suarez, 35, after making a proposal to sign the player when his Atletico Madrid contract expires at the end of the month.
Juventus are prepared to pay Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey €4m (£3.45m) to get him off their books, allowing the 31-year-old to become a free agent.
